Overview
Symptoms of linitis plastica may include dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, loss of appetite, weight loss, abdominal pain/discomfort and sometimes diarrhea. A positive family history of diffuse gastric cancer may be present if it is the hereditary form of the disease.
History
- A family history of linitis plastica may be present in patients with hereditary diffuse adenocarcinoma.
- Rarely in linitis plastica, that is metastatic and perforating, may be accompanied with passage of recently ingested food and feculent emesis.[1][2]
Symptoms
- Thickening and rigidity of the stomach wall makes the process of digestion difficult and the patient may complain of:[2][1]

- Bloating
- Diarrhea
