Overview
Renal osteodystrophy is usually diagnosed after treatment for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) begins. Blood tests usually show the following:
- Decreased calcium level
- Elevated phosphate level
- Decreased calcitriol (vitamin D) level
- Elevated PTH
