Overview

  • Disturbances in mineral and bone metabolism in chronic kidney disease
  • it is an important cause of morbidity, decreased quality of life, and extraskeletal calcification that have been associated with increased cardiovascular mortality.
  • These disturbances have traditionally been termed renal osteodystrophy
