Overview
Brain MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of pathological changes in patients with CNS manifestations/ Complications like seizures, AMS, visual changes or others in patients of HUS. Findings on MRI may include Basal ganglia, Brain stem, Cerebellar or Thallamic lesions.

Brain MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of pathological changes in patients with CNS manifestations/ Complications like seizures, AMS, visual changes or others in patients of HUS. Findings on MRI may include any of these[1]:
- Basal ganglia lesions particularly in dorso-lateral portion of Lentiform nucleus
- Thallamic changes
- Brain stem lesions
- Cerebellar changes
- Cerebral edema
