History and Symptoms

Symptoms of chronic constrictive pericarditis include:

  • Diffculty breathing (dyspnea) that develops slowly and worsens
  • Fatigue, excessive tiredness
  • Long-term swelling (edema) of the legs and ankles
  • Swollen abdomen
  • Weakness
