Overview

Lymphangitis is an inflammation of the lymphatic channels that occurs as a result of infection at a site distal to the channel.

Lymphangitis is inflammation of the lymphatic system which is the collections of small vessels of the immune system that filters the lymph fluid.

Causes

• Contact dermatitis
• Staphylococcus aureus
• Streptococcus Group A

Diagnosis

Physical Examination

Vital Signs

• Fever or pyrexia

Skin

• A red rash is present which spreads over time

Extremities

• Lymphadenopathy
• Lymphoedema

• 
  Lymphangitis of the Arm
•

Laboratory Findings

• Neutrophilia
