Overview

Most of ostium secundum ASDs occur sporadically. However, ostium secundum ASD has been found to occur with increased frequency in association with some genetic disorders including:

• Holt-Oram (heart-hand) syndrome
• Down syndrome
• Noonan syndrome
• Treacher Collins syndrome
