Overview

Bazin disease is a skin ulceration on the back of the calves. It was formerly thought to be a reaction to the tuberculum bacillus. It is very rare now.

Historical Perspective

It is named for Pierre-Antoine-Ernest Bazin.[1][2]

Gender

It occurs mainly in women.
