Epidemiology and Demographics
Stroke could soon be the most common cause of death worldwide.[1] Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the Western world, after heart disease and cancer, and causes 10% of deaths worldwide.[2]
The incidence of stroke increases exponentially from 30 years of age, and etiology varies by age.[3]
