Overview
History and Symptoms
Pleural effusion is usually diagnosed on the basis of the history of your family and physical exam, and confirmed by chest x-ray.
The symptoms are as follows-
- Chest pain, usually a sharp pain that is worse with cough or deep breaths.
- Cough.
- Fever.
- Hiccups.
- Rapid breathing.
- Shortness of breath.
Sometimes there are no symptoms.
