Overview
Aortitis is generally associated with rheumatologic diseases or infectious etiologies. The most common causes of aortitis are temporal arteritis and Takayasu's arteritis.[1] Infectious aortitis most commonly presents as mycotic aneurysm and is potentially life-threatening.[2] Aortitis may also be an incidental pathologic finding after surgery for aortic aneurysm.
