Head images such CT and MRI are needed to rule out other possible causes of headache.

MRI is indicated when there is suspicion of posterior fossa lesions and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak.
Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) and magnetic resonance venography (MRV) are indicated in arterial or venous lesions.
