Physical Examination

Appearance of the Patient

Hepatitis A is manifested here as icterus, or jaundice of the conjunctivae and facial skin‎

Vital Signs

• Patients may have fever with temperatures upto 40°C

Skin

• Jaundice

Eyes

• Scleral icterus

Abdomen

• Hepatomegaly with right upper quadrant tenderness may be present
• Splenomegaly
• Ascites

Neurologic

• Encephalopathy in case of decompensation
