Overview
On the MRI patients with hepatitis B may be screened/monitored for biliary obstruction, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. MRI findings in these patients may include nodular appearance and signs of portal hypertension, such as ascites and splenomegaly.
MRI
MRI in patients with hepatitis B may be done to:
- Exclude biliary obstruction
- To assess for hepatic cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma
The MRI findings may include nodular appearance, splenomegaly and ascites in case of portal hypertension in patients with hepatic cirrhosis.
