Overview

Recently the different genotypes of salmonella were associated with the different manifestations of the disease, yet, the process is not fully understood. Future studies are required to explain if there is a genetic basis for invasive non-Typhoidal Salmonella, and why certain non-typhoidal salmonella strains cause more severe disease than others.
