Overview
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a very useful examination in so far as it can distinguish between a cystic mass (e.g. hydronephrosis) and a solid mass. Doppler examination should be performed to examine the renal vein and IVC to assess for the presence of tumour thrombus.
