Neurofibroma may be classified into 2 subtypes:

• Dermal neurofibroma

• Dermal neurofibromas are associated with a single peripheral nerve.

• Plexiform Neurofibroma

• Plexiform neurofibromas are associated with multiple nerve bundles.
