There are no established risk factors for ameloblastoma. It is thought that common risk factors in the development of ameloblastoma may be injury to the mouth or jaw, infections of the teeth or gums, inflammation of the teeth or gums, infections by viruses, and lack of protein or minerals in the persons diet.
