Prevalence
- The prevalence of lung cancer is approximately 100 per 100,000 individuals in the United states. [1]
- The most common type of lung cancer is non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). About 85%–90% of all lung cancers are non–small cell lung cancer. The other 10%–15% are small cell lung cancer.[2]
Incidence
- The age-adjusted incidence of lung cancer is approximately 58.7 per 100,000 individuals worldwide based on 2008-2012 cases.[3]
