CT Scan
- Bone CT may be helpful in the diagnosis of chondroma and performed when the radiographic findings are suggestive of the disease and need further evaluation.
- Findings on CT suggestive of enchondroma include chondroid calcifications, mild endosteal scalloping and expansion of the overlying cortex with no cortical invasion, unless fractured.[1]
- No periosteal reaction is seen.
- No soft tissue mass is seen.
- Findings on CT suggestive of periosteal chondroma also includes saucerisation of the adjacent bony cortex with a sclerotic periosteal reaction.[2]
- most lesions are < 3 cm in size
