Surgery
- Both the rapid growth rate of linitis plastica and the asymptomatic nature of early stages result in the disease being diagnosed at a very advanced stage.
- Surgical resection is not recommended among patients with metastatic linitis plastica.[1]
- For patients with local disease, total gastrectomy along with chemotherapy and/or radiation before or following the surgery is recommended.[1]
