Symptoms
Acute brucellosis may begin with mild flu-like symptoms, or symptoms such as:
- Undulant fever
- High fever spikes usually occur every afternoon
- Excessive sweating
- Often with characteristic smell, likened to wet hay
- Abdominal pain
- Back pain
- Chills
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Joint pain
- Loss of appetite
- Weakness
- Weight loss
- Depression
