Causes

Pulmonary regurgitation is caused by the following:

  • Following repair of tetralogy of Fallot
  • Following balloon or surgical valvulotomy or valvuloplasty for pulmonary stenosis
  • Absent pulmonary valve syndrome
  • Isolated congenital PR
  • Peripheral pulmonary artery stenosis
  • Pulmonary hypertension
  • Right ventricular outlet aneurysm
