Overview

There are no established risk factors for Von Willebrand disease however, individual's ABO blood group can influence presentation and pathology of vWD. Those individuals with blood group O have a lower mean level than individuals with other blood groups.[1] Interestingly the risks of cardiovascular disease and ischemic stroke are reduced among patients with von Willebrand’s disease.[2][3]
