Radionuclide bone scanning may be done, but findings are not specific for Pott's disease.

Other Diagnostic Tests

Acid Fast Staining

Demonstration of acid fast bacilli in the CT guided biopsy specimen sample confirms the diagnosis.

Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAAT)

• Heterogeneous group of tests that use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect mycobacterial nucleic acid.
