Microscopic Pathology

In congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hyperplastic cells are usually but not always smaller, with cytoplasm that can be vacuolated also often more basophilic. Rare mitotic figures may be present, but the hyperplastic cells typically lack features of cellular atypia.
