There are no laboratory findings specifically associated with otitis media. General markers for inflammation may be present.
Laboratory Findings
Laboratory tests are not usually used for diagnosing otitis media. The following test results may, however, indicate otitis media as general markers of inflammation:
- White Blood Cell Count
- A complete blood count test performed on otitis media patients may reveal abnormal lymphocyte and other white blood cell counts, lesser or greater than normal.
