Overview
Other diagnostic studies for esophageal stricture include endoscopic ultrasound and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) for detection malignant causes . Manometry is used in cases of esophageal stricture due to dysmotility.
Other Diagnostic Studies
Endoscopic ultrasound, esophagogastroduodenoscopy and manometry are other diagnostic studies that can be used in the diagnosis of esophageal stricture. [1][2][3]
- Endoscopic ultrasound may be helpful in the diagnosis of esophageal stricture due to malignant causes. It can detect local invasion in malignant causes.
- Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is done for staging suspicious malignant causes that were diagnosed in barium esophagogram
- Manometry is used in cases of esophageal stricture due to dysmotility
