Overview

An ECG may be helpful in the diagnosis of mesenteric ischemia. Findings on an ECG suggestive of mesenteric ischemia include irregular heart rate, absent P wave and irregular R-R interval.

Electrocardiogram

An ECG may be helpful in the diagnosis of mesenteric ischemia. Findings on an ECG suggestive of mesenteric ischemia include:

• Irregular heart rate
• Absent P wave
• Irregular R-R interval.

These findings on ECG are consistent with the diagnosis of atrial fibrillation which is a major risk factor for mesenteric ischemia.
