• CT can distinguish POI from early postoperative small bowel obstruction and identifies other complications.
• Abdominal CT will confirm unobstructed distension or identify mechanical obstruction and its various causes
• Abdomen and pelvis CT scan (with intravenous contrast and oral water soluble contrast)
