Other Diagnostic Studies
- Tests to evaluate metabolic disorders:[1]

However, screening and testing to investigate metabolic abnormalities are not routinely recommended for the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Unless the patient present with symptoms including seizures, sluggishness, recurrent vomiting, dysmorphic feautures and gross motor and mental retardation.
- Neuroimaging studies:
- There is no sufficient evidence to support the role of routine neuroimaging tools in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder because of their association with inconsistent results.
