The diagnostic approach of hepatocellular adenoma involves the use of radiological investigation with or without surgical resection and biopsy.

The radiological diagnostic yield for hepatocellular adenoma is 90%.^[2]
Surgical resection and biopsy remains the gold standard for definitive diagnosis making.^[3]
Biopsy is strongly considered if the imaging results are inconclusive.
