Blind loop syndrome ( short bowel syndrome) occurring after surgicalresection can be classified into 3 types depending on the type of resection.

Type 1:

• afterJejunostomy (end jejunostomy)
• Common reason
• dehydration starts immediately after surgery

Type 2:

• occurs afterJejunocolic anastomosis
• weight loss andnutrition abnormalities occur after months

Type 3:

• occurs afterJejunoileal anastomosis
