Common causes of diabetic foot may include:[1][2][3]
- peripheral neuropathy
- Ischemia from peripheral vascular disease
- In the presence of diabetic foot infection, the following are the most common causes of infections:
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Proteus mirabilis
- Bacteroides fragilis
- Escherichia coli (It wascthe most common gram negative bacteria in one study)
