Overview
Surgery is not the first-line treatment option for patients with anaphylaxis.
Indications
Surgical intervention is not recommended for the management of anaphylaxis. Surgery is usually reserved with patients with laryngeal edema. [1]
Surgery
Patients with anaphylaxis that develop laryngeal edema may require a cricothyrotomy or tracheotomy. This is to allow the patient proper oxygenation.
