Complication
Children with moderate and heavy intensity hookworm infections include:[1]
- impaired growth
- deficits in intellectual and cognitive development.
Women especially pregnant infected with hookworms include:
- severe anemia
- increased maternal morbidity and mortality
- premature birth
- neonatal anemia
