Allergen immunotherapy is commonly used in patients suffering from allergic rhinitis or allergic asthma. This type of therapy has been found to occasionally alter the course of both of the above disorders. Allergen immunotherapy provides long-term relief of the symptoms associated with rhinistis and asthma. The chances of the development of asthma in young children are also dramatically lowered when treated with this therapy.
