Overview
The use of a looping ECG event recorder or Holter monitor can be very useful in ascertaining the frequency of atrial fibrillation and the rapidity of the ventricular response. It is also useful in gauging the frequency of ventricular tachycardia. This information can be used to guide treatment including pharmacotherapy and the need for automatic implantable cardiac defibrillator implantation.
