Overview
Ultrasound is used in pediatric patients and in cirrhosis with portal hypertension. It is fast and can be done without sedating.

- It is of high diagnostic importance in pediatric encephalopathies
- Evaluation of cirrhosis associated with portal hypertension which is one of the cause of encephalopathy
- It is fast and does not need sedation
