Overview
Apart from all the laboratory tests, imaging studies and assessments few other tests like spinal tap and evoked potentials are present. These help in differentiating few brain lesions like infections and in detection of subclinical encephalopathy.[1]
Other diagnostic studies
Spinal tap
- Identification of infections
- Identification of intra ventricular bleed
- Cerebrospinal fluid for analysis
- Identification of antibodies in cases of autoimmune conditions
Evoked potentials
- These are the electrical recordings that detect the intrinsic activity of the brain.
- The electric activity is recorded basing upon the stimuli.
- P300 is a sensitive to brain function and can detect subclinical hepatic encephalopathy[1]
