Reticulum (anatomy)
Overview
- This article is about an anatomical part. For the constellation see reticulum. For the organelle of the cell, endoplasmic reticulum.
The reticulum is the second chamber in the alimentary canal of a ruminant animal. Anatomically it is considered the smaller half of the reticulorumen along with the rumen.
The reticulum is colloqially referred to as the honeycomb. It is also known as the bonnet[1] and as the kings-hood[1].
