- This is an added tool to improve accuracy of diagnosis the squamous cell carcinoma , its extent.[1]
- Accompanied with CT scan accuracy has imporved.
- It is used for evaluation of metastasis and lymph nodal involvement.[4]
- It is used along with ultra sound for extracting sample(Fine needle aspiration) for histology in sub-clinical increase in size of nodes.
