Overview
First degree AV block is an incidental finding on an EKG and it is not associated with specific physical examination findings.
Physical Examination
Heart
Probable physical exam findings on auscultation include:
- Decreased intensity of first heart sound
- Soft blowing diastolic murmur best heard at the cardiac apex
The duration of this murmur may be reduced after administration of atropine which shortens the PR interval.
