Braun's lipoprotein
Editor-In-Chief: C. Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. [1]
Overview
Braun's lipoprotein (BLP) is one of the most abundant membrane proteins. It is bound by the covalent bond to the peptidoglycan layer and is embedded in the outer membrane by its hydrophobic head. BLP links tightly the outer membrane to the peptidoglycan layer. It is found in gram-negative cell walls.
