Editor-In-Chief: C. Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. [1]
Overview
In medicine, glycoprotein IIb/IIIa, also gpIIb/IIIa, is an integrin found on platelets. Calcium-dependent association of gpIIb and gpIIIa is required for normal platelet aggregation and endothelial adherence.
Pathology
Its absence causes Glanzmann's thrombasthenia.
