Peptic ulcer differential diagnosis

Overview

The main symptom of uncomplicated peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is epigastric pain, which usually can be accompanied by other symptoms such as bloating, fullness, early satiety and nausea, but can be also asymptomatic, specially NSAID-related ulcer, for which upper gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation might be the first manifestation of the disease.[1] So, in order to differentiate PUD we must consider other diseases which can present with pain, upper gastrointestinal bleeding or acute abdomen
