Epidemiology
Prevalence
- The overall prevalence of vitiligo is about 1% of the total worldwide population.
- This varies among geographical areas and age groups, from 0.1% up to more than 2%.[1]
Age
- 50% of patients with vitiligo are diagnosed before the age of 20. [2]
Gender
- Both sexes are equally affected by this disease
- Female are diagnosed earlier than men.
