Overview
There are no laboratory abnormalities in vitiligo disease. Consideration should be given to ordering laboratory studies to exclude the presence of other associated conditions such as pernicious anemia, Addison's disease and thyroid disease.
Laboratory Findings
Despite the absence of laboratory changes in vitiligo disease, it may be associated with other autoimmune diseases. Adequate laboratory tests to evaluate presence of diseases such as hyper/hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus and pernicious anemia, include:[1]
