Overview

Patients with tumors may benefit from biopsy and surgery.

Surgery

Patients with tumors, surgery or radiation may be used for treatment. Biopsy can also be performed. However, for tumors involving the optic chiasm and tracts, biopsy should be avoided. Surgical management is preferred in patients with seizures secondary to hypothalamic hamartomas. Thermoablation and radiosurgery are also options for treatment .
