Overview
Positron emission tomography PET may show hypometabolism in areas of brain associated with memory in patients with history of amnesia but with no visible structural or functional brain damage on CT scan or MRI.
Other Imaging Findings
- Positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) in patients with dissociative amnesia shows hypometabolism in right inferolateral prefrontal region responsible for autobiographical memories.[1]
